  • Frontier Travelers on Frontier Airlines flights can now surf the web while flying on the airline’s Embraer 190 fleet, which will offer onboard Wi-Fi service beginning today.

“Adding Wi-Fi to our Embraer fleet is another example of Frontier’s commitment to providing our guests with a comfortable and easy travel experience”

“Adding Wi-Fi to our Embraer fleet is another example of Frontier’s commitment to providing our guests with a comfortable and easy travel experience,” said Dan Krause, vice president of Marketing and Customer Experience for Frontier. “We’re confident that the availability of onboard Wi-Fi will improve the flying experience of those who want to remain socially connected during their travels.”

To celebrate the launch of onboard Wi-Fi, Frontier is providing passengers the opportunity to try Wi-Fi for free for 30 minutes throughout the month of February. Passengers can also register to win free Wi-Fi service on Frontier for a year by visiting the airline’s Facebook page.

Frontier’s onboard Wi-Fi service is managed by Gogo, a leading provider of inflight connectivity and entertainment solutions. Pricing for laptop service is $4.95 on flights up to 650 miles long, $9.95 for flights from 651 to 1,150 miles long, and $12.95 for flights 1,151 miles and longer. Pricing for mobile devices is $4.95 for flights up to 650 miles and $7.95 for flights 651 miles and longer. Additionally, there is an option to purchase access for 15 minutes for $1.95 on flights up to 650 miles long.

“Gogo is extremely excited about the opportunity to help the numerous travelers who fly Frontier’s Embraer fleet stay connected and entertained in flight through Gogo,” said Ash ElDifrawi, Gogo’s chief marketing officer. “As the number of Wi-Fi-enabled mobile devices continues to grow, those passengers who have come to expect connectivity will be able to connect on Frontier.”

Aircraft equipped with Wi-Fi service will feature a “Wi-Fi On Board” logo and the paw print of Frontier spokesanimal Larry the Lynx near the entrance to each aircraft.
