AirTran Airways Launches New Service Between Charleston, W.Va., and Orlando

  • AirTran Airways AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:AAI) , today launched daily nonstop flights between Yeager Airport in Charleston, W.Va., and Orlando International Airport in Orlando, Fla., with West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin and All Jazzed Up, a local jazz band, on hand to kick off the celebration.

    "AirTran Airways continues to bring low fares to overpriced and underserved markets across the country," said John Kirby, senior director of strategic planning for AirTran Airways. "We are pleased to begin service from West Virginia's capital city to Orlando, a premier family vacation destination. West Virginia residents will love our high quality, high value service."

    "AirTran Airways will revolutionize air travel in West Virginia with the beginning of non-stop service to Orlando," said Rick Atkinson, Yeager Airport director. "A true low cost airline that provides excellent service and value will enable travelers to take advantage of the convenience of air travel to visit both Florida and West Virginia."

    The following nonstop flights between Charleston and Orlando will be available beginning June 25, 2009:
